  • @Doika86 - In this particular recording, Rodney Gilfry was Don Giovanni.

  • @vocetenor It's always nice to meet another person who admires Furlanetto.

  • @arpeggio1358 I agree Furlanetto is for me the best Leporello,

  • i don't really mean to sound gay-ish, but if that guy is leporello then who on earth played Don Giovanni?? lol

  • I'm sorry, but this doesn't come near Ferruccio Furlanetto's interpretation of Leporello.

  • That is one fine Leporello!

  • perfect!bravo!impressed!

  • 4:52 Ouch!

Absolutely right! When I had a rehearsal in Berliner Staatsoper all men who aren´t tenors, sang Madamina,Il Catalogo È Questo ^^, its propably Mozarts best aria for all kind of men-voices, because it has the perfect range for a men´s average voice.

It is, like you said perfectly, sort of standard, I find no better words ;-)

Its so interesting, how different that aria can be interpreted, I heard it from real basses and also lyric baritones, its like an aria of the whole men´s universe

Yeah, this is possible, no doubt, but I would prefer a real bass to sing Leporello especially this aria and its very interesting, that Ilebrando sang it more mature when he was older and I liked it quite a lot!

Hm, I think that it(always) comes to personal taste when you hear a singer, no matter what fach he has, if you like him, you like him; quite simple! I like more darker voices because they sound more like REAL male voices and not to bright like many other ones.
