Autonomous Robot Arena

Robot Arena constructed in 2006 for Sensation in Dundee/Scotland by Merlin Robotics.

Uses active vision from 7 overhead cameras to track the robots using relative and absolute visual tracking of position (using the upward facing leds on the robot). The area was positioned under a glass ceiling open to daylight! Gameplay requires human players to make high-level choices but 6 robots autonomously navigation around the arena avoiding the Grotbot. Interactive touch screens presented a storyboard to customers.
Robots are based on the Miabot Pro robot platform enhanced to run for 6 hours continous use.
