Mason Bee House Activity

This wildlife lodge was placed on the south facing wall in my back garden in Spring 2006. It has been regularly occupied ever since, and has been a constant source of interest. The video was taken with a mobile phone. I am no expert obviously.

Hi,Thanks for your comment. It's a bit wobbly but only taken with my mobile.I saw some guy on tv I think recently,who had made a house,and the tubes were transparent plastic, so you could see what was happening inside.Brill idea.The tubes slid into a purpose built house,he had loads of em.

You wont get any activity till the spring now, mason bees fill up the holes with mud and seal over and that's it till spring. Go onto the Natural History museum site and download their

info on them, very interesting.

They look like wasps! I wouldn't know the difference though :)

how did you get the bees to come? does it work in tropical countries like malaysia?
