@fuKdaKKKSnNIGGAS Back in the old days, these folks encountered armed soldiers with swords, so they learned to use what they came in contact with. Nowadays many dojo use weapon kata to enhance their karate, since it works the body in a different way. Who knows, if one ever gets attacked by some guys with knives and a pole or broom is nearby, knowing these movements can't hurt.
