  • THIS IS AWESOME! What a great find! Thank you so much for posting!

  • And there's more where that came from!

  • I grew up just outside of Toronto. My friends and I had a theory about Irv. You ever noticed how he always had at least one fire to report every newscast? We decided he was running around setting them all on fire to have something to talk about on the news that night. :p

  • Fire in Buffalo....BUT THE SABRES WIN....details at 11.

  • I can't tell you hopw many times I heard him say "a fire in North Townawanda Today"

  • "Irv Weinstein, you're really a pro. You've got all the news that we want to know. You tell it like it is and sometimes throw us a curve. Nobody says it like Irv!"

  • This retired anchor is one of my favorites. Very very few of these types left. I've stopped watching TV news all together. Unless it is a major event. All they have now a days are good looking people with no brains.

ROFL! I worked next door at KB Radio in '77...the reality of it is, Irv designed Eyewitness News to be punchy, attention grabbing and visual. If that meant filling the screen with flame, so be it. The source? Dan Rather's Eyewitness News at KHOU-TV 11 in Houston in 1959. Like Dan, Irv took his station from worst to first...

  • I remember when Irv was doing news on KB1520 back in the mid 1960s with WKBW first person news,Always sounded great on the NIAGRA FRONTIERS 50,000 WATT BLOW TORCH TOP 40 STATION.....

  • @tjfreak - It was Tom JOLLS and Rick AZAR, not JONES and AYSAR.

  • "but do you know where your children are?" A very popular news program in my home as a kid in Toronto.

  • @monty1067 As did Bill Bonds in Detroit.

Be it Irv or Bill, they don't make them like that anymore.

  • @unstabledavid I use a Dazzle Card, it hooks up from VCR to PC in a snap.

  • i a vhs tape of irv getting pissed how do you convert vhs over to youtube
