Οντως αυτο το τραγουδι ξυπναει αναμνησεις απο την παιδικη ηλικια....Εγω θυμαμαι το καλοκαιρι στο χτημα το εβαζε ο πατερας μου σε ενα παλιο κασετοφονο που ειχαμε....Μετά είχε σηρα το "δεν περνας κυρα Μαρια" ....:)

@caimeno Unfortunately, they had to satisfy sexual needs of their "lawful spouses", gave a birth to children, etc... and STILL DO (!!!) in Muslim countries! I have exchanged some messages with one ex-muslim who is 24 years old, and her mother is 36! European feudal society wasn't very different from Muslim, whatever some authors write to prove that it wasn't so!

@AnaJilK Of course i agree, but if you consider the time period, that being feudal, it was not uncommon for girls to be married at that age by their families throughout Europe. I am not sure as to whether brides this young were expected to fill sexual roles.

@caimeno Thanks so much caimeno for such a nice translation! I knew the message of the song, but now it seems even more beautiful and... somewhat touching... I wouldn't like to be in the shoes of a girl who got married at the age of 12... Are girls ready to be wives and mothers at such a young age??? It's a terrible trauma! A man who touches a girl of this age, is a criminal and should go to the jail!!!

@AnaJilK Away in the far plains where the olive trees grow, there is monastery which young women attend. I go as well, poor soul that I am, to supplicate myself, like every christian. I enter into the courtyard and see an apple tree, full with ripe apples, and in the branches sits a young woman. I tell her to come down so that we can build a little nest together, but she just keeps picking apples and dropping them on me.
