  • the coach is saying to squeeze in the muscles of the inner thigh which would allow you to use your hip in the kick, giving more power. he also says that the karate low kick is not as effective because even though it seems like the hip is coming in, it's not used effectively during the kick. keep your head still, squeeze the inner thigh, and kick without moving the body.

  • レベル高っ!

  • that looks fun and hard training, their all like a family, very good technique

  • @Jamesleedx Thank you for the translation,

  • I dont not understand Japanese, but he is still extremely informative!!!! for the inside low kicks.... and how it compares to karate!!!!! what an awesome coach..... and has the name as ippo's rival seido!!!!! lol

  • no he is not kenji midori

  • the guy in black is kenji midori?

  • yhow do you know about low kicks?have you ever fight?shut up

  • Continuing....

Performing the kick this way will give you more stopping power and allows you to cripple your opponent's stance. As for low kicks to the inner thigh, I think the teacher is saying that instead of the 2 part roundhouse normally used, it is better to scoop the leg upwards into the inner thigh, almost like a leg raise, as more weight can be applied and more power can be attained.

  • I don't understand Japanese, but I think that he is trying to teach a more efficient way of throwing low kicks to the leg. Normally, as the demonstration partner demonstrated, you would use a 2-part roundhouse that involves extending the the hip and knee and then the shin that targets the IT Band on the lateral aspect of the leg. However, the teacher is saying that you can kick more efficiently by targeting the rectus femoris area on the front of the leg by thrusting the upper shin into it.
