For those who patiently subscribed.... this time a rendition of a folk song from Comparsa (Deep Forest), where the vocal lines have been adapted to play as a lead guitar tune. The original was a folksy but raspy voice but it had a great tune so I tried to keep a very smooth effect and style. The second part was an African sounding vocal that was hauntingly melodic. This version is only a test of the first part of the song, published here for your listening and for comment/judgement.

It was recorded in Garageband with the guitars and bass played in live and the synthesizer keyed in from the keyboard. Overall it took about 20 overlayed tracks to get the strings, percussion and guitars together with an effect that worked. Hope you like it. ozzieof

  • what strings do you use? guage? is your bridge positioned with the adjustment screws facing toward the headstock or the tailpiece? i'm not sure how to position bridge on mine. i think screws shoulf face down toards tailpiece/endpin. when i got my stang they were facing up towards headstock. didn't seem right. your tone is amazing. you're the reson i decided to pull trigger on a 66 oly white tortoise guard, thanks!

  • I use 46-10 DR strings (new set on for this clip). Bridge is set up with screws to tremolo. The tone comes from the guitar settings and effects from a zoom box (foot-switched), and/or Garageband. With pickup switches you choose either pickup or both together (in-phase or out-of-phase). Best thing about the guitar is the playability. Great neck shape, nice low action, clean tone from every fret/string. I also prefer the rosewood fretboard over the maple.
