The Dems. learned their lesson during the Carter administration. They tried to convince America that are best day were behind us. Reagan showed them they were wrong! Today the Dems. are preventing us from becomming energy independent. They will drive America into the ground. They will break our spirit. Then Liberal-Fascism will spread across this once proud republic like a cancer.

Don't get caught up in the whole "oil speculators" talk. You and I are both oil speculators my friend. Congress needs to lift the drilling ban; when Bush just did it, the price per barrel dropped over a week.

And as of today, the speculated price will shoot back up because of a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone who thinks that drilling alone will fix the gas price dilemma is delusional. Think about every storm that hits the U.S. and how the speculators will jack the price back up. And also consider that the U.S. imports oil not affected by those storms. The price STILL GOES UP regardless!!! Contact your Senator regarding S. 3268 a bill to reel in oil speculators. Let the oil companies drill!!

How about this; the drilling ban from congress will have to be voted on again come September and I bet that it is reversed due to anger on both political sides. Sooner or later our elected officials will have to put party differences aside and make it reasonable for the American man to drive to work everyday. Drilling is not a long term solution, but if it drops the oil price until a better solution can come about, why not?

I don't have any issues to drilling. But I do not understand the mentality of those who insist that THEY have the ONLY solution and they refuse to cooperate unless they get THEIR WAY. Sounds like the mentality of a two year old child, not someone who is trying to help America.
Americans are being price gouged and held hostage by a bunch of self-centered arrogant PRICKS! Vote these bastards out of Office at our earliest convenience!!!!

Did you know than only 22% of the money from the federal gas tax goes to the roads and bridges. Have you ever been to another country? Food goes up and so does everything else. We send 720 Billion dollars to other countries when we could drill here. The president demanded a vote 7 years ago and congress shut it down. We would have been getting millions of gal. by now. The people of Alaska want to drill. the federal government (which makes more on a gallon than oil companies) is to blame
