F.Y.I.: Last year Mr. Nakane's guitar (his most precious resource as it's his bread and butter) was stolen from a farmer's market he was performing at somewhere in L.A. County.

Johnny Knoxville--of all people--came forward and organized a drive to get him a new one (I believe the manufacturer gave him a discount).

Arthur is periodically in the news. A few years back shop owners at an outdoor walking mall in Santa Monica where he performed, petitioned the owner to remove him.

I wondered what happened to Art. My friends and I used to see him at the Blue Lantern bar in Gardena(now defunct) in the mid-Eighties. We had him perform in a backyard party about that time.

I still have one of his autographed record albums(the cover of which was done by a Disneyland-like caricaturist).

He was amazing the way he'd record the first chorus on a real-to-real deck he operated with his toes, then he'd rewind and play it back to harmonize with his own vocal on the second chorus!
