Quasi intelectuals like you never cease to amaze me! Consider the fact that most low to middle income americans by used cars, existing homes and other previously owned items and would not be taxed at all, consumption tax, get it dumbass!! And everyone would receive a prebate of the taxes they would spend up to the poverty level, novel idea detax the poor. The Fairtax is a fantastic way to improve America and get the government out of our private lives.

Actually, for the most part, people in the lower income levels are there because they have a habit of spending all their money... Fairtax actually puts more money in the hands of these people... therefore, they'll be spending more money than before... which only helps our economy (since it is inadequately gaged by consumer spending).

They're actually already in place, only they're not federal. Most states already have a sales tax system in place, so Fairtax relies on the states' already established expertise and manpower to collect these taxes (and keep businesses accountable). In most cases for these states, its simply a matter of just increasing the tax rate.

You've got it all wrong. Fairtax actually saves a home buyer money. Currently, we pay a lot of hidden taxes in the purchase of a home like payroll tax for example... it is just figured into the price of the home, and we don't get to deduct it or anything. Also, the government taxes the lender, so the lenders up the interest rate... under fairtax, payroll tax and that interest rate tax is gone - so the price of the house is roughly the same, but the interest rate is lower.

Oh I'm sorry I was off by 2%. My bad! I live in Florida so I'm going to have to add another 6% anyways so I guess I should have said a 29% sales tax. Why don't we just cut spending so we can cut taxes instead trying to implement a new system of taxation? The reason why Huckabee supports the Fair tax, like so many Liberals do, is that it will actually increase government revenue from taxes so Washington can spend more of my money for their costly special interests.

Brak2002, You dont know much about taxes & you do not know anything about the FairTax, like this Chris guy on the Video. We have had a Flat Tax before in 1987 and look where it is now. If we get it again, in 20 years we will be pushing for the Flat Tax again & again. FairTax is 23% noy 25%. Get it right. FairTax is the way to go.
