I don't think he was meaning to mix religion and music. He just stated was was true. Tradition wise, what he said is absolutely true. There is still goodness in the world. Relax.

ustad doesn't mean king, its simply means the learnt one (teacher/ guru). its a title like Dr.

dont be silly. there is no religion discrimination here. it is the way it is. Pandit if you are hindu, ustad if muslim.

Srinivas is the one who started the use of mandolin in the south indian classical. Now it is accepted universally. As for a title, he is more than Ud. Vilayat Khan for sitar, for indian mandolin.

I've heard shrinivas for more than a decade and i am sure he needs something higher than ustad or pandit for a title.
