UPDATE (March 2011): You can now download this movie as a DVD of episodes that has been improved with un-necessary scenes deleted and a few other tweaks. Please see further down for details.

This project was inspired by YouTube user "gk3movie" (Kyosho). It is a film version of the PC point-and-click adventure game Gabriel Knight 3. It is around 4 and 1/2 hours long in total as I found it hard to leave out much footage from the game! Although by no means perfect, I hope it is enjoyable to watch.

For the dedicated Gabriel Knight fans, I have uploaded 3 versions that can be downloaded at http://www.4shared.com/dir/12623531/3f8ebf0b/sharing.html

Gabriel Knight 3 - The Episodes (3.16GB)
*RECOMMENDED VERSION*
The newest version of the film split into 10 episodes for easier watching. Details can be found at http://snipurl.com/27on0w or watch the preview video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1cxMQ4fG1U

Gabriel Knight 3 - The Movie (DVD edition) (3.65GB)

DVD files ready to be burnt to a standard blank DVD

Gabriel Knight 3 - The Movie (WMP edition) (1.02Gb)

Uses .wmv clips and a WMP playlist to play the film

A teaser as to how the DVD editions look complete with cover and DVD art http://i55.tinypic.com/25833pe.jpg

Enjoy!

  • I wouldn't know but will take your word for it! Watch this space for info about my newest version of this movie which will be in episodes.

  • You really did a great job putting this together. Downloaded it and watched it all.

I suppose the only downside was that it was silent without the music in some scenes. But I don't blame you; with all the editing it would have been difficult.

    Thanks again.

  • Thanks for the comments, it was so hard to decide how to edit it into a film and maybe some elements got missed due to the sheer scale of the project. I am glad the overall reaction has been positive though!

  • Thanx for the compliments guys :-)

  • My mother used to play Gabriel Knight.

But she had a hard time with the computer, and quit the game.

I always wanted to know what happened in the plot.

Thank you for putting this up:)

  • Love this game. Played it through twice, many years ago. After only 3 mins watching this, I know I'll love watching this movie. Thanks for uploading.

  • Wow... I miss the fmv of 2 already... :( Thanks for the uploads the, great job!

  • right at the beginning is pretty much bang on the same note as at the start of deus ex

  • Fair enough, I can sympathize with getting burned out on a project. It's the sort of thing to come back to in 5 years, or when your 70 and have nothing but time and patience.

  • Thanks for your comments, there are bits and pieces I would change if I was to do it all again but I simply have not the time. Also I would have a much lower patience limit than before as towards the end of editing I had spent hundreds of hours on this project.

  • Hopefully I'll find time to watch it all, cause this is hardly wine in a box, and eminently watchable. Mehehahaheha!

  • The thing that's definitely lacking is Robert Holmes sublime score; it seems to be there for cinematics and endgame, but the long conversations and treasure hunting is oddly silent and "lifelike" without the Jazzy Classical piano. It wouldn't be to hard to time your cuts of the script and replace the standard music in each segment (though with your skills there may be many creative options. Time permitting of course).

  • I skimmed though the story (I've played it several times), it seems like you've got a good knack for tight editing. All the same, I'd include a few more walking transitions between scenes/rooms, though I can see how that could get tedious if your not playing the adventure.
