I admit, I am not a fan of remakes....... But Mickey Gilley did a much better recording of this song than Jim Reeves. Mickey just seems to put life and feeling in a song like no one else can.

I knew Mickey before he recorded this song. I sat with him in his thunderbird on the Gilley's parking lot and played him a cassette of songs I had written. Unfortunately i didnt have what he was looking for.
I saw him and Johnny Lee some time later at a Johnny Cash concert walking down the middle of the coloseum after the show.
It was some months later Mickey recorded this song. It was an instant hit and after some 10 years playing nightclubs Mickey was an overnight success. lol

This is a great song and your graphics were excellent - amazing how you found so many roses and also how the graphics went with each picture. Awesome video
