  • is that just a cool air or is it a box k and n filter? Any other mods?

  • its a K&N cone on the stock tubing, i just left the other half of the stock box in place that covers the PCM so the cone sits inside of it.

  • good video man. 0-60 in just over 6 seconds. Very nice. :)

  • @Thilindel one more thing, word of advice. NEVER take thier word for performance because it varys and i dont think anybody modded it up as for as my knowledge goes all i had don was a simple oil chance and new filters

  • @Thilindel the reason why MT and motorweek got 8.6 is because of either 2 things(higher elivation or they had the A/C runiing) come check out my vids my impala 3.5 does 0 to 60 in 7.2 sec with A/C off on a flat surface and down here in the south our elivation is below sea level wich explains alot the slowest time i have on my vids of my car is 8.1 and that because i had the A/C on i got 11 vids of my 3.5 up on my channel for proof and none of them were" DOWN HILL" i swear bought it as a rental.

  • @90Mrknowitall Send proof of that to Motortrend, and Car and Driver. According to them, the 3.5L takes 8.6 sec 0-60, while the 3.9L takes 7.5 sec. Then there's the 2007 police car comparo, which has another 3900 engine for the Impala that they document as 7.5 sec as well. Unless someone who owned your car before modded it, I'd like to get your luck in having a smaller engine kick butt like that. 7.2 is pretty nice.

  • So how's the reliability so far on the 3900 engine? My '05 Impala's 3800 was really reliable. Got 210k out of it..then oil sending thingy popped and drained before the light came on - damn. Anyway, just got a '09 3.9L Impala!

  • why is my 3.5 impala quicker than these LOL takes only 7.2 sec to hit 60 where this one takes 7.6??

  • i have black 06 monte carlo ltz wondered what u know about sparkplugs good performance cold air intake and stuff to increase torgue?would it be smart to put e3 bosch platium spark plugs, cold air intake with electric fan in it to push more air in it?

  • @Quatermain98526 i don't have a v6 impala. i have the 5.3 v8 ss. i will do 14.2 w/ a perfect 5.6 second launch. i have since gotten better tires which have definitely helped the acceleration. i guarantee with no work done (other than new tires) i could easily hit high 13's. if i did CAI and Exhaust that would be knocked down even further.

  • @milo814 Sorry, but your V6 Impala/Monte will not hit 13 flat with a CAI, exhaust and radials. You can hope for high 14's at best. 13 second cars are reserved for supercharged v6's, turbocharged v6's, and the v8's.

  • @pureadrenaline25 how about your 3.2 liter vs my GM 5.7 liter?
