dont you get it? Kwanzaa is a beautiful holiday for african americans to celebrate their beginings and there community. Its a holiday to teach important principals to their children. Who cares who it was invented by. Why do people feel the need to tear down anything they dont understand?

The celebration of Christmas celebrated in Yule can include the birth of Jesus to those who celebrate it or not. Christmastide is a total focus on Christ ... while the media version of Krismas does not [self explanatory] Santa has become media corrupted from the beautiful, and kid/family promoting, Christmastime play he has always been that is celebrated around the world. People do make choices in being snared into that media driven frenzy or not. I stepped off several years ago of that.

Chanukkah has it's own beauty and meaning to those who celebrate that ... which is unconnected to the celebration of Christmastide and Yule. There are many other holidays in Yule such as the celebration of Kwanzaa ... which is partly in protest of the commercialism of the Yule version of Christmas ... and the media promotion of Krismas. You could always celebrate the non-holiday of Festivus which seems to fit your thinking. See the tv show Seinfeld.

If you don't believe in Christ ... fine. I happen to be insulted by the media PC'ing to offense. Don't celebrate Christmastide then. I'm offended by the current media liking of the term Krismas. If you don't believe in Santa Claus, St. Nicholas or father Christmas fine ... delete it from your Yule celebration and stay drunk instead. Don't believe in snow or holly berries ... It don't matter if you don't because people don't go to hell for that.

I forgot to add that you might find the winter festival of Yule appealing due to it's pagan origins. In that you can celebrate ... or not ... however you want.

There is a difference between the celebration of Christmastide [ Dec 25th - Jan. 6th ] and Yule [ Nov 26th - Jan 1st ] [latest spelling by the media that I have been hearing lately that they now seem to like: Krismas ?]. Christmas is celebrated in the festival of Yule but is very different. You might not be finding material to buy on Kwanzaa due to the idea of it being anti-materialism/stuff. Amazon has stuff ... look there.

@liaheflin: Yet there are far more legitimate African American holidays, such as MLK Day and "Juneteenth" (celebrating middle of June 1865, when last slaves were freed). Why make something up when there is so much real African American history to be noted?
This video is just another example of an ignorant man white man Dont worry about what the hell Kwanza is the black man has to have something og their own,,,we are tired of your fat white man with his fake deer etc getting his fat ass stuck in the chimney you have yours let us have ours..

you moron, this video is a commentary on the silliness of the whole "war on christmas" bullshit. simply because you don't understand context (and this in no way defamed kwaanza, and btw most blakcs celebrate christmas doofus) doesnt mean this is offensive. individuals like you look for any reason to be offended and react ot that offense by being a bigoted fool. hypocrisy in the highest order.

BULLSHIT- you dont seem to understand your own video. the later part of the video finds fault with kwanzaa because it doesnt accomodate your need to find a christmas alternative. you also say nothing to the idiots that insult kwanzaa while you got plenty of bile for the folks who defend it. NOR DO I BELIEVE FOR A SECOND YOU HAVE EVER BEEN NEAR A BLACK BOOKSTORE. you are a total liar and moron.
