Serial number #0483 in an African Padauk wood case. SSM chips and the original 40 John Bowen presets. The color of the wood is a deep red with black grain lines. This video doesn't really show the color at all.

  • This Prophet-5 Rev 2 is currently for auction on ebay item number 320689056031. The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the synth working and being a 'Prophet-5 rev 2.

  • @redmartian and me stumbling upon and remembering how cool John's presets were ;-) "You gave away your programs for free?"

  • the sound of the prophet is so beautiful it just makes me happy

  • Hmm, spotted the beginning of Japan's 'Ghosts' in there as well.

  • Prophet 5 is probably one of my all time favourite synths. I've got a couple of demos up on my page using the Rev 3.

  • I like the "Behind the Mask" by YMO in the beginning!

  • I want it! I got number 367 and it broke! I got 7 years out of though from 1998 to 2005. My fave synth.

  • Behind the mask at the beginning. Cool :)

  • Just came across this video. Ive got a Revision 3.2 racked Studio Electronics P5.

Would love to load these John Bowen presets in and see how they sound on my machine. Especially YMO stab sound. Ive really struggled with my racked 3.2 P5.

Any chance you could send the systex file ?

  • this sounds beautiful

  • What about this very nice litle melody starting approx. at 6.40 until the end? Is this your personnal composition or a cover? (who is the composer? cause it's briliant!!!). Thanks for your answer.
