well they used Mandy Moore for Aeris in this one but goes back to the original in the second one. They had also changed their looks, but went back to the original in the second game as well

@TotalDoubleTrouble: Square Enix actually purposely placed characters from the Final Fantasy games in the Kingdom Hearts games as shout-outs to to the FF games (like a inside joke or reference). I know that Moogle has appeared in both of the games, and some characters such as Axel (<3 RIP) are derived from FF characters, with just names and appearances changed. Some also see it product placement, although I don'[t really see how. Either way both games are really awesome!
