@kevjards I was a lover of Genesis before Gabriel left and they became a backing band for Phil Collins. They were legendary till that point. I first heard Marillion in the early 80s on the radio and I had no idea who they were but my first thought was Genesis are back. (They had left a big hole in my life LOL). So I fully understand where you see the similarities. They are one in the same. Listen to Genesis, " Supper's Ready," and then Marillion's " Grendel" and you will see how close they are.

This song was dedicated to my great great uncle donald campbell, who held several land and water speed records and is the only man to hold the land and water speed record in the same year, who died in his final attempt to set the water speed record, in which the boat known as the bluebird K7 crashed and caused instant death

A pretty good song, but my favorite of theirs is still "Kayleigh."
I love that song.

In my opinion, the original song is one of the only songs that comes very close to "perfect". This one ain't too far behind...amazing. Marillion, you never cease to impress
