(This video is now obsolete as the game engine has been redone from scratch. I have also moved account to RichhhR)

Here is a game I'm working on which is basically a remake of Megaman 2's bosses with the ability to control the boss by a second player. (Now that I've had to stop playing CS due to repetitive strain injury, I have time to spend on MMF projects).

In this video I show an early demo of Crashman (or 'Clashman') in both his original stage and the teleport stage. I am using a gamepad controller to control Megaman and the keyboard to control Crashman.

Current features:
* graphics,sound,music are identical to original game (recorded from a ROM)
* gameplay is as accurate to the original game as possible
* added ability to control bosses (multiplayer)
* compatible with gamepads/joysticks (including converted NES controllers)

There are no major problems, its completely playable and fun already.

Here's a list of problems/missing things in this version (by the time you've watched this these are probably solved):

* Megaman cannot vary his jump height (need to use extension after upgrading to MMF2)
* Megaman currently does not move back when hit
* Megabuster fires from wrong place (need to set action points)
* Various small animation bugs (too fast/too slow/wrong animation or frame)

[Edit: All these problems have been resolved, shown in the next video]

Once all these have been fixed I will use these 2 Crashman levels as templates to create the other 7 bosses.

I have a lot of other ideas for after that, here are just some:

* add internet multiplayer
* add boss vs boss (beat-em-up style)
* add bosses from other Megaman games
* add boss doors part

But for now my goal is to create a mutliplayer game version of Megaman 2 based as accurately as possible on Megaman 2's 8 bosses. Just for fun, of course. :)

Comments appreciated.

  • Where can I downloaded this?

  • @RichhhR please give a demo old or new

  • Some people have suggested this. It may be included in the future. After the game is released I will expand on it regularly if it has enough following. Adding new modes and new bosses (from other Megaman games).

  • This game is unfinished. Currently being made.

    I can upload a demo of the game seen here (old engine) if you like. The new engine was made from scratch though, and is far more accurate. This one is obsolete. Would you like me to upload this preview version anyway?

  • This looks sweet. Have you thought of a co-op mode? also how do i download the game?

  • sweeeeeeeet

  • All the problems/missing things listed in the description have now been fixed/added in the new version. Update video coming soon (ETA end of June)
