i discuss models, airbrushing, thinness, and sexuality in advertising.

*UPDATE*
there have been some good points made in these comments. i admit to being harsh in this video. but hey, it's a RANT, right? i'm supposed to be angry :P.
i'd like to point out that i'm not against models. many of them are not only beautiful, but gifted and intellegent. i'm glad they can get a job doing what they do.
what i AM against is people who force some (not all, mind you) of them to be unhealthily thin, and the way the media seems to say that you have to read a certain number on the scale to be beautiful. i firmly believe that beauty resides inside, and is reflected in how you take care of yourself.
and everyone has a different healthy weight. for some, it's very thin. good for them. for others, it's a softer or more muscular look. just find the weight at which you are healthy and functioning at your best, and feel good about yourself! that's what i really want to say.

also i'd like to say i'm flattered by the views count, which is at 299 right now! wow. thanks for watching.

i also elaborate upon the "drunken" version of 'little girls', explain about the full version of that video (hopefully coming soon!), and talk about possible digital video cameras in my future.

what is the media showing our young girls? images that make them feel self-conscious, imperfect, and less than beautiful.
as always, humor and outtakes accompany the serioius stuff (i'm a firm believer in the "spoonful of sugar" theory; thanks, mary poppins!).

Yeah, I agree with you. We are just the lucky naturally thin people in this world, but I still think there is still societal issue in which people just want to skinny regardless they are healthy, fat, or not. People just are not happy with their own weight.

To be honest, I wish I was thinner, but the only thing that hinder me is I know people with anorexia and it's horrible.

  • @viczhou11 I understand that but I hate the mentality that ALL skinny people have an issue. Your BMI is 17 mines run between 18.3-18.6 and I get the ur soo skinny comments. It doesn't matter because all skinny people are lumped into the category of being too skinny just because they are slim. Where I live (NY) we both are too skinny and would be compared equally to those with a BMI of 16. People can't tell the difference.

  • @ImJustCommenting She is not complaining about naturally thin people. She is just ranting about how our society say anorexic thin=beautiful, which is very true. You have seen catwalk models before, and some of them are skeletal. In fact, my friends have the most perfect body, but they keep complaining they are fat when they are just thin in the normal weight category. I am not fat either, with a bmi of 17, size 0-2, but everytime I see someone thinner than me, I get all envious.

  • Oh, and before ya'll go off accusing me of being fat--no, I'm not. I actually just recently recovered from an eating disorder, and I can tell you--wholeheartedly--that these depictions of women definitely contribute to dwindling self-esteem and the ever-skyrocketing rates of eating disorders. Do you honestly believe that women's bodies magically allocate fat tissue to "desirable" areas (ie. breasts and butts?). NO. That's not how it works, peeps. Go educate yourselves before spewing nonsense.

  • Are you guys seriously giving her shit about this video? I know people who model and I can tell you right now--not ONLY do these modeling agencies/institutions discourage eating like normal beings, but at least 95-99.99% of these images are indeed airbrushed and photo shopped. You guys are seriously fucked up--and don't give me shit about men having to succumb to these same standards (men's magazines are geared towards men's health and fitness, whereas women's are geared towards pleasing men).

  • Do you think its just a coincidence that most of the models are 5'8" or above? Do they also stretch themselves aswell as starve? NO ... its a build, just like somebody naturally cuvry, people can be naturally tall and skinny. Get over it.

  • There are people who are naturally fat, (for all those who bitch about being naturally thin) so right back at you.

  • And if anyone thinks you're too heavy, they must surely like ten year old boys. Only real men like women with curves. Not to mention, many models are chosen by GAY men.

  • The reason you're recieving all these hate comments is because you've spoken the truth and as we all know the truth hurts, so fuck them.
