do you think sri lankans are losers who came from india. we dont consider aryans as our ancestors but the royal sinhalese . tell me from what country you are and i'll tell the bitter truth of your country. sinhalese have a proud history of 2500 years and we are proud call us sinhalese and what indians did for us was only trouble and chaos . srilankans are far better than indians in culture and of course everything

yes you r correct.. a tribal princess called "kuwanna"(at that time sri lanka had different tribes) helped him to be the King of Lanka,then Vijaya made her his Queen,that's the beginning of Sinhala,after some years later Emporer Ashoka sent us the message of Buddhism and it became a Sinhala Buddhist state until now. As u said, In sri lanka we have lot of family names like Wijayasinghe,Weerasinghe,Jayas­inghe,Ranasinghe,Wikramasinghe­,subhasinghe etc

Sri lanka's national anthem is one of my most favorite national anthem.I am from the state of Bengal In the Indo Bangladesh region. As tradition says Bengal's king Bijoysingha ( Vijayasinghe) conquered Sri Lanka & named it Sinhala after his own name Singha.Sri lanka's cronicles Dwipvansha & Mahavansha recognises the events. Event the composer of this wonderful anthem Ananda Samarakone was a student of Viswabharati of Bengal's Gurudev Tagore. May Bengal &Sri Lanka's relation live for ever.
