too short

@iRebekah31 Well, I'd consider rejection something that causes emotional stress, which is more what I meant. I don't know, maybe she's looking off in the distance smiling because something ironic happened. I don't actually know the story, so I'm just going off this little piece.

@iRebekah31 Laughter isn't always about humor; the same way that tears are not always about sadness. For instance, laughter can be a way of indicating sarcasm, it can also be used to suggest exhaustion, etc.
........but no, I am not seeomg "hysterical laughter".

@iRebekah31 Laughing hysterically? What are you talking about?
-
@iRebekah31 She isn't laughing hysterically, really, in my view. She just sees the humor and irony in the situation as well as the lamentation of it. Which is perfect for this song. It's basically the point of it.

@iRebekah31 Some people do that under stress, so she probably thinks it's in character.

BERNADETTE PETERS will take over the role of Desiree in July, after Catherine Zeta-Jones!
I had the joy of being part of the day-to-day rehearsals, on the sidelines. CJZ is not only a supreme professional, talent and beauty, she is down to earth and remarkably warm. She is perfectly cast, and her combination of being 40 and gorgeous is exactly what Desiree is. I saw the production, and would recommend it to anyone...get a ticket NOW. I have nothing to gain from this recommendation..just the joy of passing on a true admiration for a true star who is also a lovely person.

What I find exciting about this production is that finally there will be a cast album that has trained singers in the roles of Desiree and Mme. Armfeldt. While both Glynis Johns and Hermione Gingold were enormously talented, neither were the best of singers. (Yes, I know Ms. Gingold did many musicals....) CZJ and Ms. Lansbury will be wonderful to listen to. I just wish I could afford a trip to NYC to see it live.
