@WeChangeWeGrow - Actually, it is 100% true, and Julie Scardina, a curator at SeaWorld, has said so herself that they have acquired dolphins from the Taiji hunts.
If you want to work with dolphins because you love them, then you should become a marine biologist. Or at least, someone who works with them in the wild. It is a selfish mentality that drives people to work with an imprisoned and languishing animal, and I hope you can see past it. Good luck.
@FreedomForOrcas I understand where you're coming from but there is a lot of disinformation involving how America gets their dolphins from Japan in fact that not even true if you look at the facts. In any event my goal and passion is to work hands on with them and as long as they are happy, then they are happy.
@WeChangeWeGrow - How is this freedom? SeaWorld in the past has acquired 20 dolphins from the japanese slaughters - Julie Scardina said so herself. They have contributed to the slaughter in the past, they'd do it again if nobody would find out.
@FreedomForOrcas it's really not what you think. At least they are not being slaughtered in Japan right? I'd rather a dolpin be alive and have some kind of freedom than dead...otherwise, then what?
This is sad. Did you know these dolphins were stolen from their homes? Many cetaceans have died in the hands of marine parks. Those that are born in captivity live in a world of sensory deprivation. Imagine going from the ocean - a forever changing, stimulating environment with so many things to see and do, to a concrete box. It never changes, there's nowhere to travel, no new dolphins to meet. It is boring.
You should have them watch blood dolphin!!! (this video is wrong in more ways then one) you as a mother should be ashamed of your self to even take your children to see this kind of stuff
How cute :) It reminds me of Adventure Camp - the entire camp group ran around the under water viewing area in a giant circle all at once - and every dolphin followed us against the glass.

Captivity is cruel.
