MusiCares held their 2nd annual Musicians Assistance Program (MAP) benefit show and they once again brought together an amazing lineup of performers honoring James Hetfield, of Metallica and legendary concert promoter, Bill Silva. Performing at the gala event was none other that Hetfield and Robert Trujillo of Metallica, Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney of Alice in Chains, Tom Waits, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Jason Mraz and members of Velvet Revolver who did a rendition of Pink Floyd's classic 'Wish You Were Here.' The concert benefited the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation. Hetfield was...

many of these guys are worth hundreds of millions. clapton is doing great great stuff that he keeps low key. yeah, jim H. i hope you had the FUNDS to get help. Dave N. once told me in a mtg in new york that the problem is he has so much money it is impossible to run out of cash before he dies of heroin. yeah, money can't buy this thing.

but glad i saw this vid cos for the most part i'd say 98% of musicians probably cannot afford treatment unless it's where it should be, in a meeting for a buck
