  • If the New Testament uses Aramaic words and names why would you say they didn't speak Aramaic? Egyptians spoke Greek in the 1st century as well as Coptic i believe. I dont think Egyptians were ever black, Hierogylpics have them as tan people. Who claimed Paul didnt speak Greek? I'm pretty sure Paul hometown of Tarsus spoke Greek and or Aramaic

  • In my opinion, the NT was written in all Hebrew, later translated into Aramaic and then into Greek. This is why you find Aramaic words in the Greek NT. But, what many do not realize is that there are more Hebrew words in the Greek NT than there are Aramaic words.

The point about Paul is that when he did speak Greek he suprised the Greek Guard who evidently did not know that some Jews spoke Greek.

  • The Peshitta, Old Syriac all show Greek influence, just look at the Shema Jesus says:

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.'--Mark 12:30

4 things are mentioned, the Hebrew Shema has 3, this was done to give fuller meaning to a non Jewish audience most likely

  • Very interesting and I would have to concede that at least this passage was translated from the Greek and I agree with your conclusion that the fourth, which is actually mind as the heart in Hebraic thought is the mind, was added for non-Hebrew thinkers. Thanks for pointing this out, food for thought.

  • They didn't think Paul could speak greek they thought he was an egyptian ..... hmmmm... aren't egyptians black?....hmmm Why is aparthied Israel mostly white? I wonder hmm....

  • I don't know where you are getting your facts, but Egyptians were brown/bronze/olive, not black. Paul was a Jew, also brown/bronze/olive. As far as many Jews being white, this is because of racial intermarriages with Europeans.

  • Hebrew's like rap music.

  • interesting....1:30 is truely hit my mind hardly b/cos I 1st thought the NT text was originally written in Greek, later Armaic, and later HEBREW! What a chaos to me!

  • Tell him ahk Ham, Shem, An Japheth were all black

  • Have you ever seen eygptian statues? Paul is no a Jew neither he is a bemjamite which would make him from the seed of Jacob. A real semite and a black man Romans 11:1. We all know eygypt was conquered don't we? Brown peoples heads don't bulge out in the back like that sir.
