City holds Ulster Scots festival

A re-enactment of the siege of Derry is just one of a host of events taking place all week as part of the Foyle's Ulster Scots festival.

The festival is being used to highlight an important part of the city's history and it has been drawing tourists from far and wide.

The event is being run by the Ulster Scots Agency.

Other events taking place have been Scottish dancing competitions and displays, Ulster Scots music displays and lectures.

  • great video

  • The Highland dancing looks nice. I've seen it before. It's similar to Irish dancing, but has a bit more hopping in it.

The Siege of Derry tour is an excellent idea. I've love to go see it.

  • Very interesting. Ulster folk in traditional Scottish Gaelic dress and doing Highland dancing. Do you have Scots Gaelic lessons too?
