What i heard was they used to only load 8 rounds in it and let the hammer sit on the part of the cylinder with no round and this was there safety feature.

@nexivdr You have a broken spring in your gun it seems. i have no idea how to fix it. you might take it apart and see whats broke. you can with a little filing fix a guns like these with a black powder part. but you will have to shape it and i don't know if it will work.

the one i have does have a half cock .are you sure its not malfunctioning.or may be on mine it was added

@kringle02 interesting question. I took mine apart and checked. It never had a half cock it seems. Now, that does not mean that i never did. because its possible that if the part was replaced, the new part did not have it.
Also, its possible that my gun missed quality control back when it was made. Who knows, this gun was made in the early 1950s. No gun manufacturer checks every single gun. they randomly check a few.
