Hi I am new to detecting and was wondering how you find the old maps you use to punch into your gps?

@TheRMDM502 i use old soil survey maps and county maps, i justed googled old county maps for my area and i found them, then some of the sites allow you to overlay the old maps with 2011 maps and i then find the exact area and get the long and lat. coordinates and put them in my GPS and hike to the site.

At 12:19, the gear thingy is not... its part of a civil war era umbrella. Got several of them here and its definitely part of an umbrella that a soldier would carry. Find them on Southern battlefields all the time. Good job on the video. CCH
