My one day old manual converted Legnum VR4 on the dyno at Eurospec 2000

Club VR4 dyno day at Eurospec 2000, 07/02/09. I had the auto box replaced the day before (06/02/09) so this is the first time it was properly pushed. My last dyno result showed 260bhp on the dot but that was with the calculations for an auto box (torque converter loss etc). This run was on the manual box and showed 236bhp, but I had a massive drop in power at 3000rpm, but otherwise I am still hovering at just under 260bhp. Stock car with a custom twin exhaust only. Should be improving that soon with a proper EBC and a facelift ECU.

i might be looking at buying a legnum vr-4 but it's auto, do you think i cud find a manual tranny for it and will the tranny swap be hard to do?

Give the autobox a try. It is actually a very good box providing it has been looked after. Manual boxes are much rarer so you just have to be on the lookout for one and snap it up as soon as possible. They bolt on so there is no issue providing you have all the necessary conversion parts.

Thats a good figure Ian. Mine is a little higher now I have some extra toys in the car. And the auto-box gear numbers dont bother me. Never once looked at them after doing the conversion. I forget that they are even there.

how much did it cost your to convert it to a manual?

i got a black legnum 1999 fitted with recaros and its a manual stock and under 50ks on it.
