This is the harsh reality of the situation we ourselves are causing. As a result of this, plants, animals, humans, and all living things are falling victim. While human population and growth rate is very much an issue, it is the fact that Earth only has limited resources and we are using them all up. Cargoism is not the philosophy which we should live by. Instead, we should begin making our decisions in a manner which we think about how it will affect the generations to come, our children.
Interesting, National Geographic have covered this for Jan edition 2011. Education is supposed to be the conceptual 'leveller' of populations, rather than contraception. Arrives either way I suppose (should).
Seen reports of places heaving with people beyond a livable functionality. It doesn't amount to much other than hardship, poverty and misery.
How the heck does one tackle this? Declining resources, developing countries, exploitive relations, corrupt governments, it's a bleak outlook.
