Actually it looks like he doesn't really like what you're doing. Some cats hate being patted or scratched and prefer being petted instead. Great cat anyways and I sure you are a great owner. :)

@carnthemightroos4eva No Manx cats actually loved having the bellies rubbed, fairly hard too. And the meow proves it along with the concentration in his eyes ad the purring.

@Designs4Times Aww that's sad. :( My cat is about 8 now. And I can totally relate to the conversation comment. He does the same thing. I even try and cut him off but he meows even louder as if he is mad that I meowed when he did or that I didn't hear what he said. He tried to crawl under my blankets too and can stand to sleep below my face. That top of his head has to be level with mine or he gets mad. And he loves being handled like a dog, being pet/stretched really hard & patted on his sides.

@viannafin Cats can be very picky indeed! My late cat was hilarious like that. She wanted pet in ONLY certain places, and I couldn't pet too hard or in the wrong way. LOL If I did she would try to bite, I would stop, then she would turn around slowly like "OK, thank you! Now don't do it again!" And I WOULD do it again just to harass her! LOL And we would repeat that routine until she finally got annoyed and jumped away. LOL

OMG. I have a manx cat and his name is stub(s) too. How weird. Well, it is really a mixture. It can be stubs, stubbies, stubbers, stub-binskers. But we really named him it for his none-existent tail. lol My cat is super strange too. He followed me like a dog and sits in wait for me to come home. They say it is common but it is just so creepy to walk in the door and have him just sitting there staring up at me. Hah.

@AndreaArtificial He's very loyal, as Manx are know for. When you talk to him, he meows back, as if he's trying to have a conversation with you. He's has been the best cat ever! Currently 18 years old, will be 19 in October 2011. He's starting to show signs of his age, so I don't know what to expect, but so far it just looks likes he has arthritis.
