Second clip from Pakistan of sitar/flute duet. Don't know the artists though. Raag Pahadi
It sometimes feels as if the flute player doesn't realise there's a sitar in the duet.

  • do you have anything from the Poonchwale family? particularly anything from Ustad Mohammad Sharif Khan Poonchwaley would be greatly appreciated.

  • Only on audio. There may be some footage Of Poonchwaley-Ji but I haven't found it yet. If you know of anyone in Pakistan then they may be able get something.

  • Bahut chukria for the artists' details. I can't read the Urdu at the end cradits so I couldn't get their names.

  • What a magical combination of flute and sitar. Very gripping. I do not know the raaga being played but once started listening to it, I could not stop. Masterfully played. Thanks for sharing.

  • @mumtazchangezi I thinks its Pahaadi....

  • So soothing and beautiful! :)

  • The beginning sounds like "down by the riverside" slowed down.

  • very soothing and class combination.both of you are excellent.

  • saiyaan bina ghar soona.......

  • @tripmonk0 sorry, ashraf sharif, not asraf as i wrote earlier, typing mistake

  • @lestephenois1 check for asraf sharif, he is son os uatad sharif khan of poonchwaley, ashraf is the best sitar player of pakistan at this time, he is living in germany now

  • This is Rag Pahadi. If you know the Hindi film song Isharon Isharon mein dil lene wale, it is the same raag. Or Punjabi tappe which are also in Pahari. This is an Jugalbandi performed quite competently.

  • What a tuned flute he plays...from where can i get such flutes..?

  • @imranchangezi I am learning from Ustad Salamat Hussain at NAPA in karachi... according to me he may be best flutist as well as the flute teacher nationwide. You make choices of your own too, but my advice to you is learn from him. Look at his finger position, it's like very appropriate as far as flute playing is concerned, the other person with these finger positions is Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia. They both have the same class of playing.
