Tornado destruction/relief

This video shows what happend in Missouri and Oklahoma on May 10, 2008.

Thank GOD MORE weren't killed! I found 1 live, online radio station out of Joplin, MO asking for anyone with a pickup truck to come to Pitcher Oklahoma to help get the injured to area hospitals and I wanted to go back & help so badly!! A dear friend for life lived and worked in Pitcher, but all I could do was pray cause she didn't have a cell phone back then. When I finally went and looked a few weeks later, my stomach just turned!!! It's still aweful to see people... they had NO Warning!

IT must have crossed HWY 69 right behind us, but you never know where they will go! And there was nothing on the radio, which really pissed me off cause I knew people were hurt, probably killed!! When we got home to Grove, I turned on the news and got on my computer and started trying to call family members North of us. The FREAIN' Tulsa news stations were talking about every other tornado that day, cause they were everywhere... but they said NOTHING about poor PITCHER, or SENECA, etc...

MOM asked Kay & I to stay at her house and she would come home, but we wanted to hurry to Grove! We headed south on HWY. 69, thru Baxter Springs Kansas and on towards Quapaw Oklahoma towards Grand Lake and Grove! We could see the twister coming!! I hit the gas as hard as I could and we roared past Northern Quapaw and down 69 past the Pitcher Oklahoma turn off to the East. Cars and trucks were rolling into Pitcher, but I kept heading South as we watched the tornado head out East across fields.

It was Mother's Day... Remember? Kay & I had been to Pittsburg Kansas to visit with most of our kids, but our youngest (a teen) was at home alone in Grove, Oklahoma with our dog. We knew the storms were heading that way, so we hurried south! I stopped in Riverton Kansas to deliver a Mother's Day Card to my MOM, but she wasn't home!!  I called her cell and she was at a ball game in Galena, Kansas with more of the family... She wanted us to wait for her, but I knew we needed to go!!!

My mother-in-law lost her house in this tornado. How she survived, we'll never know. The tornado hit her bedroom first where she had just gone to bed for that evening before going to work that night. She walked away with a few scratches. She lost this home twelve years to the day that she moved into it. She had lost another house on the property due to a fire when my wife was in high school. Talk about cheating death twice.

my grandparents were hit and we headed down the next day and when we got there y mom burst into tears and there was maybe 30 people there helping but it was all gone

my cousins house was destroyed in this tornado- she left the house and came back and it was just gone! ITs really affected me just seeing the damage.

yeah i was helping to me and my dad was on our 4 wheelers helping people...terribly sorry for people who lost loved ones...pray it will never happen again...I think its due to global warming..within the last couple of years weve seen storms that breaks records, and r u getting stronger each year..we may have not seen nothing comnpared to this yet///
