Kathleen MacInnes sings this beautiful song with pictures of South Uist.

"I found this song in my mum's attic last Summer. The song was composed by the Bard Michael Ruadh MacPherson, Taobh-a-Chaolais, South Uist, for my dad after he died on 13th July 1974 aged 46."

  • Beautifully haunting, as are the pictures of South Uist which we had the pleasure of visiting last year; wish we`d had a chance to see and hear Kathleen MacInnes.

While my family have been in the U.S. for hundreds of years, with Macgills, Camerons, MacDonalds, MacRaes, Gordons, Keiths, Stewarts and others crawling about the branches of the family tree, whenever I`m in Scotland I feel I`ve come home. Can`t wait to get back in May `08.

  • Well, you never know Wishuey, she might have a wee concert on while you're at home!!

  • I visited South Uist earlier this year and was captivated with its beauty and its people. I left part of my heart there and long to return. Kathleen sings beautifully of this special place.
