General Hospital 1999 Lucky's Death part 3 of 11

In one of the most heartbreaking scenes in GH history, Luke meets Laura on the docks and tells her Lucky has died. This is one of Genie Francis' many shining moments when Laura breaks down and falls to her knees upon hearing the news. The scene then moves to the morgue where Laura and Luke have come to identify the remains of their son. Tony Geary is also once again superb in his acting as Lucky's devastated father, Luke Spencer.

@Goldenrod636 Helena paid Faison to burn the place to the ground and put a dead body matching Lucky's DNA and dental records to be found by the police so everyone would assume it was Lucky who had died. This was so they could take Lucky away for a year and put him under mind control and turn him against everyone he loved.

@Goldenrod636 The Sason blame because was because Luke and everyone assumed Moreno was the one who started the fire because Sason were at war with him at the time. Carly and somewhat Jason suspected AJ as the possible culprit too. Viewers found out a few days later that none of them were at fault Faison set it and kidnapped Lucky planting a fake body in the room. MONTHS later a rewrite comes and Helena suddenly was suddenly in on it and Faison's part in it was pretty much forgotten.

@Tigger97498 You're right on everything except the part about Helena's involvement. It was shown pretty early on that she was the one behind it all. In another clip, Faison is watching Lucky (still played by JJ) on the monitors and Helena is there with him. Soon after that it's revealed that Faison has been under Helena's employ the whole time and his going after the Scorpios again was just an added bonus to the real reason he was in town (working for Helena).

This was a powerful scene. Genie Francis should have won an Emmy for this but of course, Tony G won. Genie finally won an Emmy after 31 years of fantastic heartbraking acting. She was never treated equally. I hope she returns. SHe has millions of fans wanting her return to GH. They need her now with their ratings hitting bottom.

GH apparently has a long history of not treating it's female actors very well. Remember the stink over the actress who played Reese? GH fired her for getting pregnant, if memory serves. Before that Genie left in 2003 because GH wouldn't grant her near the vacation time or other perks they so gladly afford Tony Geary. Hard to believe a show that targets women specifically would be so uncaring about it's female stars.

Can you believe that neither Genie Francis nor Becky Herbst was nominated for an emmy for this storyline????!!!! Tony was nominated and won and GH won for best Soap but these 2 powerhouses didn't get no emmy love!!! what a f-ing travesty!!

Genie and Becky just run these scenes, they give it a heart, they give it realism. Some Hollywood actors made fun of Franco when he was on, but soap acting is amazing especially from those two, though Franco sucked.
