Check out my CD "Old Blues" on ITunes and CD Baby. I filmed this in one take and I'm posting it warts and all, with false starts, etc, to illustrate how trying to play Blind Blake is like jumping out of an airplane: if it doesn't start well and the chute gets tangled, you're screwed.
But once you jump, you better just keep going and enjoy the ride...
I was working on Blind Blake's West Coast Blues when I heard word that an old friend and bandmate, Joe Pici, had passed away...I wrote a lyric about playing music in the '60s and comparing it to other great musical times and places...then realized the words went perfectly with Blind Blake's music - apologies to Mr. Blake and his many devotees...myspace.com/phildrum

    Peace !

  • Nicely done - tried to learn this tune off Jorma's instructional video but haven't gotten past the 4th bar yet! (Haven't given up though.) :)
