  • I think you complainers are full of shit. I can hit 12 inch steel plates all day long at 1000 yards with my Mitchell Mauser. These guns are restored to like new condition. If you don't believe me stand at 1000 yards with a plate over your ass and I will show you.

  • @masanf There are 4 collector grades of k98's. 1) Complete matching serial # orginal with vet papers. 2) Vet bring back with mismatched matching to itself bolt.

    3) Imported mismatches (frankenmausers). 4) Last but not least "Russian Captures". Mitchells is not even on that list because of the forgeries they create. MM is like counterfeit money, its looks real, seems real, feels real and it might work like real cash. But the truth is that it is faked and doesnt have REAL VALUE!!

  • just go to a gun show your bound to find a great shooting rifle $150 to $500 depending on condition and branch it was part of Army, Air force, Navy . I bought a Yugo m48 8mm for $250 and work great all matching MM they sell Russian captures $299 when the Russian captures only worth $100 to $150. and 8mm is perfect for taking a deer.

  • Man that sucks you had to buy one of those or even thinking about them. As far as shooters they do good but that's about it. Mitchelle lies and sells garbage and people pay WAYYYY TO MUCH FOR THEM!

  • @Pancioization Can't upvote this enough. Mitchells Mausers sells fraud.

  • Mitchell's Mausers sells hopped up garbage which has no historical worth once they are done bastardizing it. If you want a good shooting rifle go buy a Remington 700, or a Russian capture and don't F with it. Don't encourage these idiots to destroy any more perfectly good pieces of history by purchasing from them.

  • From an actual Mauser owner.... Russian captures are perfectly safe to fire. Mausers in general are fairly accurate and reliable. 8mm loaded to European standards is comperable to the 30.06. As for Mitchells Mausers here is the skinny. They are clean and look good. There is zero collectability. Mitchell takes a Russian capture, grinds down the serials on all parts (except for the receiver) and them stamps new matching numbers and/or Waffampts numbers to make the rifle "completely match."

  • well i would never get a micheals mauser for the history, i would never even get one anyways.

  • @masanf Its quite clear that you are an imbecile when it comes to knowing collectability, shootability or value of rifles. Russian Captures like mitchells are more of a danger to shoot than real mausers. RC's are parts guns slapped together in a solviet communist factory in the 50's. Do you think that they cared if these rifles funtioned properly or headspace was okay?!!? A real k98 was meticulously built, inspected, and fitted to its stock for maximun fit, finish, accuracy and effectiveness.

  • @masanf "Real k98 mauser ...Never be worth more than you paid for them" Are you for real?? Or just stupid? I witnessed a guy walk into my local gun shop with a $800 mitchells k98 thinking it was original. He wanted to trade it for a garand! the owner laughed him out of the store!!! he said it was worth $150 bucks as a shooter after all the tampering done by MM's. While I bought a real vet bring back commom k98 at a show for $375 and it sold at auction for $925! So much for your BS!!!
