So by simply weaking my grip and alterin my ball placement i can hit a fase and by hitting a strong grip punch hook I can draw the ball. Cool video though ill take the straight.
hi mark, superb video. answered all the questions i've been having trouble with. i play off 12. always hit a fade. watched jack nicklaus video when starting playing, who played all shots off left heel. i do the same, opens my shoulders, stance the lot. everything goes right. (left foot flare makes it worse) always thought that moving ball back though closing stance ,would make for even more open face at impact,or fat shots. which put me off doing it. best info i've seen. thanx.
Thanks Mark - I've only just found your videos and have found them so useful and you explain things very well. Keep the tips coming - any chance of some bunker tuition??
Do you setup bracing your hands in front of the ball around your front leg like how it should look at impact? it's hard to tell with the fish lens and angle of the camera.
If so, do you set up your neutral grip(2-3 knuckles) from that braced position?
I set up square to the ball without having my hands in front but behind it and then set my grip to see 2-3 knuckles at that point. Is that wrong?
This is actually pretty interesting. What would happen if you kept the ball in the same position but just changed your body orientation(open/closed), would you still have hook-closed and slice-open?
