Right... I 'd guess that this would be a threat display, keeping the rowdies on their toes and at bay. Good on ya'..

@arkim44 That's gotta be about the best sjambok money can buy I think. I'd love to get one.
-
its a Cold Steel sjambok, im in New Zealand so I purchased it online for the sake of easiness.
Yep, you are certainly right about the footwork!
-
Wow, that is nice. What brand did you buy? And where did you get it? Well there will be pros and cons for different sizes, but with good footwork you could change ranges with the same length sjambok.

thanks for the response stixrat,
i just bought a 42 inch polypropylene version, i have some minor experience in silat and am interested in the sjambok but now im wondering if size counts!

Hi Arkim
No, that one is made from plastic. You can buy them really cheap in Durban, South Africa, but they do eventually get brittle and start to break off at the ends.
@BladesPro
Hi. I am not really sure, as it's a cheap plastic one bought in Durban, South Africa. They're really good, but after some years become a little brittle and start to break off at the ends. I would guess it's closer to the 42 size, but you can buy them at varying lengths.
