Spanish has two past tenses, the preterite and the imperfect. For more information on this lesson, visit:

Note:
There are some small errors in the video. The translation: "Leía los letreros que estaban encima de las ventanillas." It should be translated as "I used to read the signs that were over the windows." or "I was reading the signs that were over the windows."

Also note that in the sentence, "Fue el primer hombre sobre la luna.", the "Fue" should not have an accent - it has an accent in the video.
