Technically Luther didn't set out to destroy the Catcholic Church, nor did he think they were pure evil. He wanted to reform it from the inside, not leave it. At least, that's how he thought at first. His 95 theses were not him leaving the Church, they were him trying to better a Church he loved.

hey there, if you want to know what the bible says talk to me. I guess I'm "protestant", but the only thing a catholic has to hold up ther religion is tradition and so-called "histroy". History itself condemns that church.
What traditions are does not matter my friend, it is who the Lord Jesus is. The bible tells us the way to heaven and its in total contrast to the catholic religion.
Its why luther did what he did.

Luther goes against the Eucharist, for instance, and Jesus offers you His Blood and Flesh.
If you want to follow a man, do so. I'd rather follow Jesus.

lol dont use that one...... "we can make up all we want cos the bible doesn't say whats ment to be in it.". Paul said if some one preachs a different gospel to the one he preached let them be cursed.
I'll tell you somthing, praying to mary and the saints controdicts the bible,Infant baptism controdicts the bible not allowing preists to marry does too infact the bible calls that the dotrine of devils.

though infant baptism likely isn't mentioned in the bible, we have made our peace with it. christ said that a person should get baptized, and christ said that a person should become a believer, and christ didn't specify a particular order of the events, and thus we believe that the important thing is that the two events happen, regardless of which event happens first, and the bible shows that baptism is the way to become born again. also the bible shows that the heavenly saints are like gods.

I have no idea how the bible says that being baptised is A way to be born again there is only one way. And Jesus says no man can know where it comes from (like the wind.).
And where in the bible does it say saints are like gods!?!?!?!
I can't see catholics problems with protestants we just believe the bible word for word. And we follow what the bible says....... I don't understand why the catholic church is better. Apostolic line has nothing at all to do with the gospel.

1 john 3:2 shows that those in god's presence become like god because they see him as he is. because the heavenly saints are in god's presence, they would be like him, and thus i assume that they are aware of things happening on earth. by contrast, those who were righteous and died before christ's death went to paradise, before christ released them to heaven. before any of the dead went to heaven, they would not have been in god's presence, and thus it was wrong to consult with their spirits.

acts 22:16 and acts 2: 38 lead me to switch views on baptism, and i now think that baptism is used for becoming born again. paul's spiritual baptism would have happened earlier when he had the conversion on the damascus road, yet ananias told paul to get baptized and wash away his sins, and thus i assume that ananias was talking about baptism in water, not spiritual baptism. interestingly enough, many protestants ( including lutheran and anglican and wesleyite ) hold to this catholic view.
