This promo used to air back in 2005 when Channel 7 used to promote how they have two television news helicopters to cover the news. They really do have 2 news choppers! One of them belongs to Metro Traffic and the other belongs to the station, however they both are often used simultaneously during broadcasts if needed.
@Montera15 Look at N67Tv (The Old Air 7) for KABC is now a charter helicopter.

@dinfg6 i know that. They usually have the reports from the blue one though, usually with Bill Thomas and Scott Reiff. It must be when JT Alpaugh is reporting when you usually have the Helinet Chopper. KTLA use to use that chopper, but they recently switched to Angel City Air (the choppers used by KCBS/KCAL) which explains why Tim Lynn and Alex Calder are there and not on KCBS anymore

KABC currently has 2 helicopters both are A-Stars. one is the flagship Air 7 and the other air 7 is also known as Helinet HD. The Helinet HD helicopter is known for filming Hurricane Katrina for ABC News.

@dinfg6 It must be hard to find then. I only remember seeing their blue white and red AS350BA chopper since 1990. I know about KGO because they used the Silver AS350BA, then the blue ones, then the light blue AS350B2, and now they're on their fourth one which is an AS350B2 with the 3D ABC 7 Logo, and the Gold Slash that is normally next to the time & logo on TV

@Montera15 No I don't have the clip of KABC using a Bell Helicopter. All I know is that KABC used to have a Navy Blue helicopter back in 1993-1994. KGO has been using A-star helicopters since 1989

@dinfg6 do you have a link to the KABC Bell Chopper Clip? I did see the clip of Sky 7 from WLS (their Bell chopper used in the late 70's)

@rglocks I actually think I saw it in an intro for WTVD's ABC 11 Eyewitness News. KTRK I thought 407 because of the size but forgot it was 2 blades. Only the 206's have 2 blades. I know the new SkyeyeHD for KTRK is a 206 because of the sound you hear from the engine.

@Montera15 WTVD does use a Bell helicopter. KTRK uses a Bell Helicopter, but their's is a 206, not a 407. None of the stations use 407's. KFSN, WJRT, and WTVG don't use choppers.

I saw that one. the wierd thing is I saw an article that said they didn't start NewsCopter 7 until 1993. I also saw a bit from the 90's (96?) from their Skycam 7. I think that's their old name for the chopper, but it looks like a regular camera. it's in watch?v=ffU9vfen-Uw
