Located northeast of Venice, south of Austria and west of Slovenia, Carnia is known as "the Pearl of the Italian Alps." Its many small towns litter wide expanses of valleys — a place where one can find high mountains, beautiful landscapes, rustic architecture and almost-forgotten trades. Local customs have remained relatively unchanged over time.
In this collection of photos I have included a traditional Hay Basket ("gerla"), an old Wooden Door, an Old Alpine Crucifix, and a breathtaking view of the Church of Pesariis at sunset.
These images, as well as hundreds of other photos, are available as Fine Art Greeting Cards on my website. Each greeting card is handmade from original photos that I took all over the world, and is printed on 100% recycled paper.
