Babinski's reflex test is an orthopedic technique used to help diagnose the presence of an upper motor neuron lesion (serious spinal cord injury). It is considered positive if the toes splay. The verbal description for this test was taken from Clinical Skills Documentation Guide by Amato et al.

  • @AAABeatbox Yes, but it can be present with a neurological pathology. In other words, this sign only appears in newborns, children under 4 years and adults with neurological disease. In healthy adults it does not appear. That's why it's used as a neurological diagnostic test to discard a neurological disease in an adult patient.

  • @AAABeatbox in adults the toes will curl down. the toes splaying like that should only be seen in babies who have not developed motor neuron connections as they say in the video there is something wrong with adult motor neurons if you see it in adults.

  • @AAABeatbox yeah i don't think you want to have this reflex

  • Isn't this reflex supposed to be absetnt in adults?

  • poop!

  • thanx

  • thanks :)
