Just adding to what's already out there. I'd love to class it up and make some with gemstones. To see how to make a thin wire tree with beads, look up CamilleSharon, she has a really nice and clear tutorial.

Any ideas and thoughts welcome.

  • very good ideas home chemistry kit,ive just got into making wire trees glued to rocks but im going to use polished wood, prefer roots idea too, you are cool,no roots = dead tree.not sure about the drying of a (erm what do you call it) orange skin,my next task is making a pendant.

  • @rosco8361 I'm glad you liked the vid, good luck on your crafting! I always felt my hands were too big to make those pendants. Are you talking about the trees that are in a circle?

  • @terpentynae Thank you for the reply, yeah its the pendants in a circle, square, triangle anything, its just getting the scale right i think, you said you wanted a challenge

  • @rosco8361 you are absolutely right! I will try one soon enough hopefully.

  • whats sometimes fun is to dip the copper in ammonia, let it tarnish, then take a blowtorch to it and turn the tarnish purple. try it out and experiment.

  • @dillonWY seriously? That would be SO awesome, what % solution?

  • Went online to research how to make homemade realistic model trees and came across this. I enjoyed it and learned something new and different. I'd like to see how far the projects have evolved since last year!

  • @terpentynae I would use a 2:1 ratio water to ammonia, if you dont have access to ammonia you can even put it in a cat litter box and the urine will work the same. Experiment on some spare wire before you commit to a full piece, careful with the blowtorch, copper conducts heat super fast.

  • You are so cool

  • LOL "i got this rock from a cave && brought it bak home"

these would look really cool/cute to put like on the little ledge of my computer desk :] i like.
