The classical piano piece, Arabesque composed by Claude Debussy performed by myslef, Paul Welch of FMera. This is just an interpretation of mine in which I take creative freedom. I in no way intend this to be any sort of 'official' way of playing the song. Please go easy on me, I know I'm not the best pianist in the world :(

  • WTF?! You must have gotten messed up sheet music... because it has wrong notes everywhere... Not the way Debussy meant it to be.

If its you own adaptation then I guess its fine... but mention it in the description.

  • @Antares0011 ugh... another chink in my psychological armour...

  • @paulfmera Dude I dont want to be rude, I dont want to "chink" your armor or anything... And I can play this by the way, Ive read several versions of the sheet music, heard 10s of interpretations... yours has different notes.

You cant deny that.... Just wish youd clear that up in the description so that people dont get confused and think thats what its supposed to sound like. Listen to 1:13 mark... its completely off... and theres nothing wrong with that, as long as you admit it.

  • @Antares0011 I changed the description. I wrote it quickly and didn't mean anything 'official' by it. I never expected this to get so many views. I'm happy Debussy is so popular.

  • I think the tempo is just lovely. This is the only interpretation of Arabesque that I listen to. Debussy's work is so beautiful.

  • @Morningglory4105 Thank you so much!!! :)

  • This is absolutely brilliant! The tempo is not a problem; it projects a more contemporary take on a piece that, quite honestly, gets old as slow as everyone else does it. Plus, look at those shoes! Sure signs of a truly modern pianist who gets it. Sure, Debussy may not have intended it played this quickly, but where's the fun if nobody ever takes some artistic liberty with music? I'm performing this at my senior recital in a few months and have decided to play it at this tempo. Great work!

  • @Antares0011 This is great. What Antares missed is that not every musical artist must play a piece exactly as composed; remakes abound. Take for example the song “Oh Girl” by the Chi-Lites and remade by Paul Young or Paul Wall (the rap version). Antares seems to have a purist view point and, I suppose, he would only be happy if Arabesque were played on a piano from the early 1900 hundreds. Not me. I really like this version! The increased tempo makes it more enjoyable.

  • this sounds like a cluttered mess!!

  • @darianjsantana Thank you soooooo much for the positive comments. Yes, I just play it the way I feel it. Maybe the tempo alters the perception as some have asked if I'm altering it, but I'm reading it straight off the sheet music. I'm not adding parts or taking anything away. It's the song start to finish. I really do appreciate your comment - made me smile! :)

  • awful interpretation

  • @Goldieluvmj Hello... for quite some time I had comments automatically just post. The only reason I switched it to be screened is because I had one person who would take stabs at the very kind people who would leave positive comments here. Direct negative energy toward me, I'm fine with that - take your best shot. Direct negative energy toward the loving people who have left positive comments, I must defend. My goal here is to share warmth to people in this potentially cold world.
