This video is biased as hell. Alfonso Robeiro, the guy who plays Carlton is a Black Hispanic and so is the girl who plays Ashley! She is as mixed as Alfonso. Also Will Smith is part Native American his skin is nearly as light as the woman who plays Hillary.

Alfonso Robeiro is a BLACK Latino like my dad. You can be Latino AND black. Tayanan Ali (Ashley) if half East Indian. Will Smith may have some Native American in his background but many American blacks are mixed with something due to slavery so he is no more mixed than the average African American.

See you're picking and choosing who's mixed and who's not. They basically all are mixed. Will Smith is a lighter skin shade than Tatyana Ali. You think she got cast because she's half East Indian? If you saw her on the street you wouldn't confuse her for anything but black. But you say you see black men being cast with women who have an ambiguous look? Tatiyana Ali looks more black than Will LOL. This video has a good message but is very, very flawed.

Huh? Both Ribeiro's parents are black. They just speak Spanish. Ali has a non-black parent. Will Smith does not have a non-black parent. He is not directly mixed and his skin is light brown. He is not near as light as Karen Parsons.

Girl, I got's to give you a hand on that one!!! So far I haven't agreed with everything you have said, but on THIS video, you was right on the mark! You said it exactly the way it should have been said. And I agree. Black men often lack complete sensitivity to the issues that affect black women when it comes to colorism, race, beauty standards and the media. Now if something is happening to them, such as lack of employement, or if they are affected by colorism, then they often want sympathy.

@Shamyrl just because someone is light doesn't make them look mixed clearly will smith does not look mixed while clearly tatiana ali does, it's a mixture of things that make you look mix not skin color i have a friend who is mixed dark skinned but everyone knows she's mixed just by looking at her. @Shamyrl Actually, Chinese and Ukrainian are both ethnicity's. Latino refers to the culture in which was inherited. That would include, dance, music, food, art, architecture, and language. By your definition, that would be like calling an East-Asian "Oriental" when oriental refers only to the culture. And, if it were an ethnicity, as you claim, then why is it that the Italians, Spaniards, French, and Portuguese, whom's culture has Latin origin, not considered ethnically Latino?
