Eratosthenes found the circumference of the world with a stick. A FUCKING STICK!

You're funny. Blame it all on the "LIBERALS!". That just solves everything, like saying "CONSERVATIVES!".
-
how smart are you if you can, with almost no knowlage of the laws of nature, manage to be correct about evolution?
-
does anybody know which episode this was from?

Gotta love Carl Sagan. He was charismatic, and talked about many interesting stuff.
-
And what if someone doesn't have the necessary means to be a "realist", but thinks of how to get by each and every day? Is he too a liberal, or merely an unprivileged? Do you see now that you need to get over your own self?
-
'People began to be persecuted for their ideas' -- sounds like modern liberalism. Liberals persecute and often even prosecute anyone who doesn't agree with their dogma. You think you're better than religion? Fucking get over yourself. Throwing out religion entirely is throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Poor Carl, all that intelligence and he still couldn't understand the human equation. The truly enlightened are realists.

@Acrimonator religions have plagued humanity for centuries now it shud be destroyed

happy birthday carl!

I hate my dad now... He always has us watch Kent Hovind; interesting, but I never saw something like this before- This is far more fascinating.

Dr Sagan was certainly the last scientist that made science knowledge really understandable to millons of us. He flaunted the virtue of making hard concepts incredibly easy
