It's a good way to control your opponent's posture, as well as set up attacks. Mario Reis used to hit triangles off this grip all the time...I think Braulio hit a triangle vs Margarida with a belt grip a few years back as well.

I'll have you know that I was at that tournement, as for langhi, it was not even by an advantage, it was 0-0, no advantages. But Marcelo could have beaten braulio easily, it was the open weight, and he fought three heavy guys consecutively, not to mention his fights in his weight category, and again, without resting, had to fight braolio, who had more than enough rest, and still, marcelo sweeped him!!!

He was under contract and couldn't compete in anything until the beginning of this year when his contract expired. Didn't you watch the other emirate clips haha Marcelinho

It doesn't matter what I think. He could not pass Langhi's guard and he probably won't in a rematch. Langhi has great Spider guard that was proved unpassable this year's European tourney.
Did you ever watch the ADCC match where Marcelo defeated Nova Uniao fighter by advantage? He could not pass guard or sweep or take down this guy and you think he was slowing down for him??Stop talking shit and train harder.

That came from Gracie Mag, are they making excuses for Marcelo too?? Did you watch the match? You really think Marcelo could not pass that guard if he wanted?? When have you ever seen Marcelo Garcia just settle in an open guard for an entire match?? Seriously man, do you just come up with this stuff??
